Low radiation exposure
With digital X-rays, radiation exposure can be reduced by as much as 90%. This is due to the fact that digital X-rays use a storage medium that is far more sensitive than that of an analogue X-ray. This means the dentition can be recorded in the highest quality with less irradiation for a shorter time. The radiation exposure from digital X-rays is about the same as the radiation that passengers experience during short return flights, such as Berlin to London and back.
Time savings and attention to detail
Digital X-rays are created in only a few seconds. The orthodontist does not have to wait for the images to develop but can analyse them straight away. The quality of the images is optimised by the X-ray process and is considerably higher than with conventional recordings. The smallest details can be sharpened, enlarged or brightened using the image processing options.
